OECD Ambassador

CHCG actively worked with Senator Scott’s office on his letter[i] calling for President Trump calling to nominate an Organisation to the Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Ambassador to push back on the EU’s proposed digital tax[ii]. A few weeks later, The White House selected a nominee, Pamela Bates[iii]. Bates served for 24 years as a career member of the United States Foreign Service before assuming her current role as a partner at Securitas Global Risk Solutions. During her State Department career, she served as a senior energy advisor to the OECD. Bates earned her A.B. degree from Bowdoin College, an M.A. from John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Tax Reform 2.0

We are fully expecting Tax Reform 2.0 to be on the floor next week. Our understanding is that the three bills, which make up the 2.0 package, will be voted out of the Rules Committee under a closed rule on Wednesday night. The vote is expected to begin on Thursday and perhaps spill over into Friday. If Tax Reform 2.0 is followed by the mini-bus, we expect these to be the last votes before the election recess.
