CHCG Welcomes Former Trump Administration Official, Emily Wilkinson

Jun 4, 2019 | SHARE

Emily Wilkinson joins Capitol Hill Consulting Group as Senior Vice President and a senior advisor in the health care practice. Ms. Wilkinson comes to CHCG after serving for almost three years in the Trump Administration, first as an Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), and then as a Senior Advisor to Administrator Seema Verma at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

During her tenure at HHS and CMS, Ms. Wilkinson focused on private insurance reform and Medicare policy. She shepherded some of the largest burden reduction projects from conception to rulemaking. This included the rules regulating the federally facilitated exchanges as well as multiple Medicare payment rules. Ms. Wilkinson also worked on several other Presidential priorities while working at CMS, such as surprise billing, improving interoperability, and price transparency.

Prior to her work in the Administration, Ms. Wilkinson spent nearly a decade working for members of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee. “We are thrilled that Emily is joining our growing health care practice and believe she is well positioned to help our clients navigate some of the most important health care policies being addressed by Congress and the Administration,” stated Brian Sutter, a partner in the firm’s health care practice.

“I’m excited that Emily has joined our team and think she will provided great insight and policy expertise as we continue to expand our advocacy footprint,” said Tom Wharton, a Senior Vice President in the health care practice.
